How This is Pune works
This is Pune is a daily status page for Pune, India. Every figure on the site is taken from a named official or primary source and shown with the date that source published it. We don't estimate, average or editorialise the numbers.
Sources. Gold and silver: the India Bullion and Jewellers Association (IBJA) benchmark, ex-GST. Petrol and diesel: the oil marketing company's district price map (HPCL). Pune Metro hours: Maha-Metro's published schedule and notices. Traffic closures and Mumbai–Pune Expressway status: Pune Traffic Police and MSRDC notifications. Milk: Gokul's published MRP list for Pune District. Onion, tomato, potato, rice and wheat: Agmarknet (Directorate of Marketing & Inspection, Government of India), Pune APMC modal prices.
How it's updated. A script fetches these sources four times a day (about 06:15, 12:30, 17:30 and 21:00 IST), rebuilds the pages, and publishes them. Some values have no machine-readable source and are entered by hand from the official document — currently milk rates, traffic closures, the Expressway status and 100% (E0) petrol reports; those show the date they were last verified. Metro running status is computed from the published timetable and the current time.
When a source doesn't publish. IBJA doesn't publish on weekends or holidays; mandis close on Sundays. On those days the site keeps the last published figure and its original date. Archive pages for days with no new data are not submitted for indexing.
What's automated. Page assembly, tables, translations of fixed labels, share images and sitemaps are generated by software from the data above. The explanatory text on each page was written by a person and is reviewed when sources or formats change. No numbers are generated by AI.
Corrections. If a figure is wrong or a source has changed, email connect@thisispune.com. Corrections are made on the page and noted with the date.
Languages. The site is published in English, Hindi and Marathi. Each language edition is written for that audience, not machine-translated from English.
Data terms
Figures on this site are reproduced from the sources named on each page, for information. Government data (Agmarknet) is published under the Government Open Data License – India.
